Some were specified and a few were not. Some were certain and at least one, the completion of the highway, as much a statement of hope and confidence as a prediction.

Prosecutors in the federal weapons case against rapper T.I. say this isn't the first time he's been caught with machine guns and silencers as a convicted felon.
Well well well what can i say. I knew they would come up with some thing to get TI. Why are they digging up the past. That is why it is called past because it is long gone and am sure that he paid for it if he had to. But you know what" LONG LIVE THE KING"
GOVERNMENT'S clamp down on foreign nationals working in Jamaica without a permit have led to a rush on application renewals and an reported "exodus" of others unable to become compliant.
Since the expiration of a 10-day compliance deadline in mid-November, unconfirmed reports are that undocumented foreign nationals working in Jamaica have been leaving the island "in droves".
The star, who is currently under house arrest on weapons charges, pledged money to a radio fundraiser hosted by DJ Ryan Cameron which was looking to raise $150,000 to feed 20,000 homeless people.
They were spurred on to do the charity act after a major donor for the Hosea Williams Feed The Hungry and Homeless Foundation fundraiser pulled out at the eleventh hour.
T.I donated $20,000 out of his back pocket to the worthy cause. Others that phoned in to pledge money included Ne-Yo, Busta Rhymes, Bow Wow, Wyclef Jean and music supremo Jermaine Dupri.
According to Allhiphop, T.I said: "God put me in a position where I can help. With great reward comes great responsibility and I'm just happy to have the ability to do this. I wish I could do more."
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Stephon Marbury grinned as he made his way down the hall to the New York Knicks' locker room, back in the fold but out some $182,000 because of a fine.
After skipping the game in Phoenix the previous night, Marbury flew from New York to Los Angeles to join the Knicks for their Wednesday night game against the Clippers.
"We had a conversation, and any conversations that we have within our team, we'll try to keep those as private and in-house matters," New York coach Isiah Thomas said.
He said Marbury would not start, but would play.

Rodgers, who retired from the airline earlier this year after more than 35 years, was asked to return to the national carrier by the Government.
He served in several executive positions during his tenure and was the senior vice-president in charge of industrial relations before he demitted office.
IN A letter published in the Tuesday, October 23, edition of The Gleaner, Jean Robertson references a slot transaction between British Airways (BA) and SN Brussels and suggests that the transfer price paid by BA was significantly higher than the price achieved by Air Jamaica in their transaction with Virgin Airways.
Unfortunately, Ms. Robertson misinterprets the reporting of the BA/SN Brussels transaction in that she assumes that seven slots represent one slot per day by seven days in the week. The measurement of 'slot prices' is based on the number of slot pairs per day, therefore, the seven slot pairs referenced in the BA/Brussels transaction in reality equates to seven separate take-off and landing slots per day. Ms. Robinson's misinterpretation is not uncommon; others unfamiliar with the industry have done the same.
